Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Best Japanese restaurant in the burgh? Might be. Been here 3 times so far and highly recommended the full Omakase with the sake pairing, the hand rolls for a custom mix and match experience, and the treasure box. The main differentiator from other similar restaurants by far is the fish quality and attention to detail. The fish here is incredibly fresh and is prepared with accompaniments that suit each bite perfectly. View is incredible, very nice at sunset. Wait staff have all been very nice and helpful in making a good experience and guiding the choices of my non-sushi eating mom when I’ve brought her. I have tried bites of the cooked main dishes she has gotten, and while they are good too, they do not stand out in the way the sushi options do. That being said you can’t go wrong here, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Extensive drink options too, I’m a fan of the Junmai Ginjo options they have.

Beautiful atmosphere. Feels like stepping into Japan, but with views of Pittsburgh's skyline. My only complaint is that restaurant was too quiet and you sit right next to people, so every word can be heard. We tried a little bit of everything and the food is great if you love sushi. The wagyu was amazing!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My wife and son treated me to dinner at Otaru for my birthday, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was absolutely sensational, the service was exceptional, and the views over Pittsburgh created the perfect backdrop for a very special evening. Every detail was first class, and you can tell the team takes great pride in what they do. For a birthday that I'll remember for a long time, Otaru played a big part in making it so memorable. Thank you to everyone involved for an outstanding dining experience. We will definitely be back.

The atmosphere at Otaru is absolutely amazing, and you get a beautiful view of Pittsburgh while you dine! πŸŒ‰ The service was good, professional standard. As for the food, all dishes were really good! The only letdown was the dessertβ€”it wasn't a great option and definitely not worth ordering. Everything else was fantastic, though, so I still highly recommend it for the incredible vibes and views! 🍣πŸ₯‚

My hubby and I had the most wonderful date night at the Omakase seating. The food and service were exceptional. Leaning about the courses and sake pairings from our server Noah made the experience even better.
